From Sales Rep to Visionary Leader
After earning his bachelors degree from Troy State University, Doug embarked on a career in the waste management industry, starting with Waste
Management in 2010 as an outside sales rep. His career progression led him to roles such as operations manager and site manager at Waste Pro, managing multiple divisions across counties, parishes, and cities. Doug’s leadership skills were further recognized with promotions to Division Manager and Municipal Market Manager. In 2018, Doug took a bold step by founding Hometown Waste, driven by his vision to provide exceptional service, engage with the community, and support local businesses.

Currently serving Concordia Parish, Catahoula Parish, The Village of Harrisonburg and the Town of Jonesville, and the Town of Sicily Island covering 1,500 square miles and catering to 9,000 households and businesses, Hometown Waste also offers commercial services to numerous local businesses. Doug’s active involvement in the community, from coaching youth baseball to sponsoring events and providing disposal services, underscores his dedication to giving back.
